Real tea and fake cakes
Even though I have lived here in Washington for many years I still follow some of my British traditions, like afternoon tea and cake.
If I am home I always have tea and cake at around three in the afternoon. I think it is good just to take a thirty minute break or so to unwind.
If I have been dreadfully naughty and eaten to much cake then I resort to my little fake cakes. I made these a while ago, and if I am having guests over for tea I put them on the table with the real ones, it makes for some interesting conversation.

Tuesday morning bath
I have been spending a lot of time in my garden lately, if the sun is out then I am out there.
Spotted this little chap taking an early morning bath this morning. I think our little water feature in the garden is one of my favorite spots. It is so much fun watching all the wildlife come to take a bath or to have a drink.
I really must get back to my sewing room though as I have some more "little ones" to create.
Hope you are all seeing some sunshine today.

Still not warm enough yet.
I love this little corner of my garden, when the weather is warmer I sit here and enjoy a cup of tea.
Over the arbor is a grapevine, it is still dormant yet but when it leafs out it gives such nice shade. I am hoping this year we will be able to enjoy a few grapes before the raccoons and birds eat them all.
Enjoy the weekend one and all.

Afternoon in my garden
I stayed completely out of my sewing room today and spent time in my garden. We had such beautiful weather(a treat for this time of year) that I took full advantage and did long overdue yard work.
The photo is one of a pair of swallows that have taken up residence in our bird box.
Every time I was a little close to the box he sure let me know, by dive bombing me. Hope I hear little ones soon.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Things gone wrong
In my sewing room I keep a box for all the things that I have made that went a little wrong.
Every so often I will take something out to see if I can salvage it, once in a while I can make it work, but not usually.
For some strange reason I can't bring myself to throw any of them away, I guess when the box starts to overflow I might have to reconsider.
