Spring in Washington...

.... ah yes what lovely weather we are having! I was going to do some more planting this afternoon but it seems that Mother Nature had a different idea. One minute the sun is out and the next we are being hailed upon. There was me thinking that I wouldn't have anything to blog about this week! I was going to post a pic of another bag that I finished but that will have to wait a bit. Normally I hang them on the garden gate which is a great place to photograph them... except for today!
I am safely tucked away inside the house enjoying a warm cup of tea and some cherry pie. The perfect combo on a day like today.
I did make a quick trip out this morning to drop off a DVD at my brother-in-laws store. It was the movie Avatar which was quite amazing. Go see it if you haven't already. Hubby and I watched it the other night and the special effects are breathtaking. I also made a quick trip to a fabric store and picked up these wonderful Japanese inspired fabric's. I have plans for more bags with these. Well I couldn't finish today's post without one nature pic. This big guy was on our fence last night. He was I am sure hoping for a quick feed by grabbing one of the birds from one of our feeders. Luckily the birds are pretty smart and stayed clear until he moved on. We think it is a Sharp Shinned Hawk. We have seen him around here before looking for dinner. Thankfully he went away hungry.

Well lookee the sun is out again... maybe I can nip outside and photograph that bag after all!

See you soon.

Wow! Looks like you had snow. We had heavy rain today. But the sun was out and it was lovely. It was knit night so no sewing since the weekend. g

Your posts are so lovely. A nice mix of all things crafty and some wonderful nature pictures.
We are so excited this week as one of our much loved nephews has just announced his engagement. He has fallen in love with an American girl from Buffalo so its the big save starting now so that we can travel both to the wedding and see some of the amazing countryside. Thank for popping over to me blog. I love to see you there
Kindest Regards Linda

Our weather's supposedly on the turn, after weeks and weeks of glorious sunshine. We had similar hail a few weeks back though. The hawk looks very much like our Sparrowhawk. Luckily the birds are pretty quick in my garden too, and there are lots of places where they can dash to safety. I do hope your weather improves for the weekend, so you can get photographing your bags, and planting again. x

Those are lovely fabrics, especially the purple one.

In Maryland we had a hawk that came by our yard everyday around 4 and grabbed a sparrow for lunch. Then she sat on our deck and ate it. It was gory but fascinating to watch. She left a big pile of feathers behind, but every scrap of the bird was eaten, beak, toes and all.

We knew when she was around because it became very quiet, all the birds hid from her and kept silent.

Crazy weather! Love that Japanese fabric! Such beautiful colours. They will make fantastic bags. Last week I was sitting outside in the backyard, enjoying the birds who had come to the feeder. All of a sudden they all seemed to make the loudest commotion. In an instant they were gone - just as a red tailed hawk flew into the yard and landing on the telephone pole. He left hungry.

Did it snowed? We have had nearly two wonderful weeks and it's cold again... We still haven't seen Avatar! These Japanese inspired fabric's are lovely! I like the picture of the bird! Hugs xo
