New Fall Sweaters

I thought I should plan ahead when it comes to dressing my "little ones," before you know it the cooler weather will be upon us. I know it is hard to even think about cooler weather right now when a lot of you are sweltering in the summer heat, but trust me it's coming!

It was such a pleasure to knit these little sweaters, it sure beats knitting one for a man....the arms are so loooong and they take forever! These knitted up in a couple of hours, I haven't decided on who is going to wear them yet, but when I do you will be the first to know. What a lovely email surprise from a sweet lady called Cindy, she sent me a photo of her wonderful cupcakes that she made from my little knitted cupcake pattern, I think she did an amazing job, it makes me hungry just looking at them.I have in my garden quite an assortment of lillies this one I think is very lovely and one of the last to bloom. I have enjoyed my garden this year very much, I think because it is starting to mature and we are finally seeing all our hard work pay off. Although I love the fall and winter, I really will miss going into the garden snapping a photo here and there to put on my blog....I guess I will have to come up with some indoor stuff to blog about, not to worry though, I still have plenty of time left yet!

Louella

Poor little Louella,
She's really very sweet,
She'd like to be a ballerina,
But she's got big feet!
I made Louella this weekend along with finishing up these two little white ballerina mice. The two little white mice were a special order from the lovely Cindy from Florida, I hope she likes them.

I am busily working on some little knitted sweaters for my "little ones," I am hoping to have their new fall fashion line completed soon! Tee Hee!

Have a lovely Tuesday!

What I Read this Weekend!

Here are a few of the books I read this weekend....just kidding! These very large books are at the entrance to a place called Never Never Land, it is about half an hour from our home and used to be a favorite place of our daughters. Over the years it has gotten a bit run down and a lot of things have gone missing. A very large Humpty Dumpty used to sit atop the books, but sadly he went missing years ago. Scattered throughout the woods are little houses belonging to fairytale characters, the Three Little Pigs, Hansel and Gretel, Little Riding hood etc. It used to be so much fun watching our daughter run in and out of the houses poking her head out the windows waving to us. It really is a shame that it has gotten into such bad shape, as it is such a fun place for little ones to let their imaginations run wild. I remember a few years back our daughter came with us to visit Never Never Land again, well of course she just had to see if she could still fit in some those tiny houses, well lets just say that it took her a little longer to get out of some of them and leave it at that! He's back! What a surprise my husband had this weekend, he was pruning and tidying up the rose that goes over the arbor leading into our back yard, when he saw something move, then out popped our little garter snake, I am not sure whose got the biggest surprise, so he dropped his pruning shears and picked up his camera. We were quite amazed that he could wiggle in and out of all those thorns, now when ever we have to go under the arbor to get into the back yard we can't help but look up just in case, I don't know what I would do if a snake fell on my head!Well I thought I'd end today's post with something a little prettier and calmer, this lovely swallowtail butterfly happily sitting on my tomato plants, of course she probably is laying eggs, and when they hatch, all those wonderful little caterpillars will no doubt devour some of the veggies in my garden....and that is why I plant extra so there is enough for everyone.

Have a lovely Monday everyone.

Winding Down and Wrapping Up!

I am finally coming to the end of a long, but very productive week. These two little mice will soon be sporting their new tutu's and be on their way to their new home. I really love making a "little one" from scratch, but the real fun begins for me when I get to dress them. Sometimes I think my imagination goes a little crazy at times, but my do I enjoy it.
I even took time out to play fetch with my kitty, but after 10 minutes or so she decided to do what all kitties do........she took a nap!I wandered outside for a breath of fresh air, and even though it was to cool to sit outside, I did consider wrapping myself in a blanket to sit out there a while, that was until I felt a couple of raindrops hit my face. So back in the house I came and did the dreaded tidying up of the sewing room!Of course I couldn't end the week without at least one little hummingbird photo, my husband took this one last week, I think it is one of my favorites, this little guy had been very busy as his chest was all covered in pollen, I am so glad that they are in my garden as they have been such a joy to watch this summer.
I hope you all are enjoying your summer, I am.

What a Difference a Day Makes!

I should have been sewing but this is all I accomplished! I kept flitting in and out of the house all day checking on things in the garden. After yesterday's overcast rainy day it was good to be outside. First I checked on my grapes.......getting bigger but still as hard as little stones. I then did some pruning on my roses, this year we have been lucky, they have been relatively pest free.
Found lots of little bees buzzing around my daisy all covered in pollen.I watered my window boxes, they quite often need watering twice a day now if it is very sunny.I did some deadheading on my hanging basket, it is in full bloom right now and extremely heavy, I always wonder every year if the hook will hold, and it always does. Then I sat out back for a while and had some tea and read my book, before I knew it dinner was needing to be fixed.Maybe tomorrow the little mice will have their bodies, and the little piggy will have some new clothes....then again maybe not, it all depends on the weather!

Good Sewing Day!

It has been overcast and quite cool here today, so I spent the day sewing. I thought it was about time that I made some little boys instead of little girls all the time.
Benjamin the little bear was completed this afternoon at 3pm.I have put him in a pair of little plaid rompers, definitely no lacy frills for him!I was actually quite pleased with how he turned out, he most definitely looks boyish!

I also finished a special request for a customer, this little piggy in her bright red and green dress, she will be going to Spain. I was asked to do the dress in those colors for a celebration that they will be having in November, I believe it is the same colors as there flag. I was starting to get tired as the day went on, so I had to leave this poor little piggy without her clothes, but I did manage to find her a small towel so she wouldn't feel so self conscious, especially with a little boy bear around the house. All in all I was very pleased with what I manage to accomplish, it was one of those rare days when everything seemed to go right.

I hope it's been a good day wherever you are!
