Billy!

Meet little Billy, all splendid in baby blue! What fun it was to use some of my new yarn stash to knit his little outfit. On the table next to Billy is such a lovely children's book, it was given to me many years ago by my Great Aunt Nell. The title of the book is called Mr.Nobody, inside the cover of the book is a poem.....

I know a funny little man,
Who's as quiet as a mouse,
He does the mischief that is done,
In everybody's house!
Though no one ever sees his face,
Yet one and all agree,
Every cup we break,
Is broken by Mr. Nobody.

I had actually given the book to my daughter many years ago and I had to borrow it back so I could share it with you. I am curious to see if anyone else also has this book, it definitely was one of my favorites, and was well loved and used!I made just a quick look around in the garden today as it was very windy and rainy, and like my little hard green grapes my tomatoes are looking no better! There is plenty of them, but unless we get some more sun we will be eating a lot of fried green tomatoes! The one thing that continues to do well are my roses.......they have been an absolute joy this year, and are still loaded with many more buds.

Before I forget, again, I want to say a big thank you toLouise @ Home Is Where The Heart Is...for giving me another lovely award, how lucky am I, it is very much appreciated.

Have a lovely Wednesday!

Already you knitted with the new yarn! Oh he looks smashing! I do SO love that he took off his slippers to read his book. P.S. Mr. 'I don't know', lives at MY house!

your roses are amazing, mine are all battered by all the rain, and have long since given up flowering..

Billy is so cute and the roses are stunning! I have never heard of that book but I know Mr. Nobody lived in our household when we were growing up - in fact, he was a pretty popular guy! Enjoy your well deserved award.

Hasn't Billy got dear little legs! I would like to get a copy of this book, I like the excerpt, may have a look on ebay, you never know! Luckily my tomatoes are ripening slowly although not the best crop I have ever had, does picking them green and sticking them in a bag with a banana help ripen them? x

Billy is too cute...especially his shoes! I really like the knitted clothing you are creating for the cooler weather that is on its way! Fried green tomatoes sound good to me!

Aaaaah Billy is beautiful. You truly have a wonderful style to your creations. There is no mistaking them as anything but a Lizzie Jane original. I am loving the photos of your garden. Still dreaming of my own bursting into bloom....but when?! Jen

That is a cute book and an even cuter little elephant!! We are headed out your way in a couple weeks (northern California). I was just wondering how your vegetables were doing!

O how I love his little flip flops ... and I almost fell out of the chair when I saw they can be removed! If only my little 2 year olds could appreciate something so nicely made!

Great blog!
