I love taking walks especially ones way out in the woods as you never know what you will see. I came a cross these two cute little mushrooms... ...so I just had to stop and take a picture.
It's that time of year when a lot of birds are getting very territorial and looking for a mate, so as you can imagine lots of arguing and fighting is going on. These Canadian Geese were making such a racket but in just a few minutes it was all over and they were swimming about serenely. In fact they had calmed down enough to even let this pair of ducks stop by for a visit.
It was really quite wonderful at how many different birds and animals we saw, but the highlight of the day and a big surprise was coming across a family of river otters. There were three of them but only this little fellow stayed put for a while so hubby could snap his photo, it was fun watching them twist and turn and almost do somersaults in the water. Soon it was time for us to leave but all in all I think we had a pretty fun day!

I can only imagine how cold that water must be! That otter is *fantastic*!
That's some funky fungi! They look like they were a lot of fun to dream up and make. The Little Bush Princess wants to live with you. Because you have otters and we don't!
Your little mushrooms are so sweet! Love your nature pics.

Love the mushrooms so cute. You have such a nice place to take a walk.
You live in such a neat area of the country to be able to see all of the wildlife you do! Thanks for sharing it with the rest of us!
I saw those toadstools in your shop. Fabulous! Your walk looks like fun. What a cute otter!
Your mushrooms are darling - mushrooms seem to be so popular right now.
Love the shrooms - I've always had a bit of a thing for shroom houses ... cute otter too, something I'd love to see in the wild

I love the mushrooms with those long stalks they are really fab, and how lucky are you to see the otters and even have one pose for a great picture. I adore otters but have only seen a glimpse of one in the wild.
Fantastic....

Only today I gave territorial blackbirds a mention on my garden blog! I can imagine the racket those geese were making. What a fantastic shot of the otter. He/she was so obliging to stay around for a while. The mushrooms are fab. x
i love all your nature pics. it's fun to see the creatures you get to see in your everyday life.
in answer to your question, it seems that a lot of the yellow i am coming across is my childrens stuff and activities. i guess the sunny color just follows children around. without them it would get harder as the week goes on.
