Cake anyone....

Just kidding, this is my soap that I have been working on all weekend. A batch already went home with my daughter who dropped by. The one in the back is a soap for men and it smells wonderful. The strawberry looking one is just that, it is a strawberry buttermilk soap and is very lovely and creamy. My house smells absolutely terrific, I think I like this soap making! As well as soap making we also made bath bombs. These were really fun and went together quite quickly. My daughter had a large order to fill so we pitched in to help. We had a large box with all kinds of fragrant oils. It was fun picking out which scent to use or blend together to make a new fragrance. We decided to set up everything in the garage that way if a mess was made it really didn't matter. It really was a very fun way to spend the weekend! We weren't stuck in the garage all weekend though. A trip into the garden found another one of my hummingbirds taking a bath. I thought this little fellow would get washed over the side of the rock but he stood firm and took his bath flying up into the tree to dry out. So that was my weekend... how was yours?

Yummy soaps - they look good enough to eat!! I am curious as to how soap is made - do you heat the ingredients. Don't laugh - I have no idea of the process involved. It does look like fun though.

Those soaps look wonderful! I adore that photo too. The little bird looks so still within all that flowing water.
