Knitting and Hummingbirds
On the way home the other day I decided to stop by our local yarn shop. I was only in the store two minutes before I spotted a lovely sweater. I asked the assistant, "Do you have this pattern?" she said she did and the yarn was available also. So within five minutes flat I was walking out the door very pleased with myself at finding such a lovely pattern so quickly, normally it takes me quite a while.
After dinner that evening I decided to sit down with my new pattern and have a read to see what it all involved. Then reality struck, I felt like I was trying to read Chinese! Now I know all you expert knitters out there are probably giggling at me right now, but that's ok, because I'm going to give it my best shot, and when I am ready to rip my hair out I'm going to come calling for help. I know who you all are, so you can't hide, I have all your email addresses!
On a different note, it is not unusual for me to walk around my garden at 7 o'clock in the morning still in my pajamas taking photo's for my blog. Well I thought I was pretty dedicated, you know, anything for my blog readers. My husband it seems is a good bit more dedicated than I am, last night he hid behind one of our rose bushes just to get a photo of this little hummingbird, happily drinking his fill from our flowers. I, on the other hand, was quite happy to look through the window occasionally, while sipping tea of course, to check out the goings on. So as much as I would like to take the credit these little hummingbird photos are my husband's, thank you sweetheart!
See you all tomorrow.

Your husband took some marvelous photos ! It's beautiful !
Have a lovely day ! :)
What beautiful pictures! Thanks for sharing with us. I love the sweater pattern and that yarn is such a "delicious" color. I bet you will not have a problem with that pattern - a circular needles difficult to use? Can't wait to see you model the sweater.
What an amazing little guy! You don't see Hummingbirds in Australia. I'm not sure if we have something similar here. If there is I haven't seen it. We are more your screeching parrot kinda country! Jen
The pattern is beautiful! I really like the lovely pink color you chose, too. Can't wait to see the finished product! Tell your husband his hummingbird photos are wonderful! I would love to be able to attract some hummingbirds to our yard next year--I think the kids would love to watch them.
Hi Kathy,
Beautiful pictures, we have hummingbirds here to and they are amazing little things to watch and photograph. I just got my swap stuff sorted out for Rachel's cupcake swap in which I - embarassed to say - realized that the person you send to is not who sends to you. So thanks for saying hello and please forgive my confusion, it's been a busy time.

i gave you an award today on my blog. take a look.
The pattern is gorgeous and my, how I love the idea of your early morning photo-shoots, I think I may have been guilty of the same thing myself from time to time.
That pattern looks great- a challenge but not impossible. You can do it! The color choice is very nice, I look forward to seeing your progress. Two thumbs up for hubby for his dedicated photography! Those are great shots!
I have a question for Jenny who left a comment. Are there no hummingbirds at all found in Australia or have you just never seen one before? A friend of mine asked me if there were any hummingbirds there and I didn't know the answer. If there are none found there do you know the reason for this? Thanks for any help you can offer.
