When I don't feel like sewing, and the weather is not so great for gardening, then my next two things that I love are baking and buying!
I chickened out on making the Lavender Scones and made good old Chocolate Cupcakes with pale pink butter cream frosting instead, they went down a treat with afternoon tea, I even shared with my neighbor Annette, we quite often share home baked goodies.I have used quite often on my blog some of my husband's wonderful photo's, now I have them in cards, we ordered them a couple of weeks ago and they came on Friday. We are so pleased with the quality of the cards, I definitely will be ordering more.Of course while I was in a buying mood I had to include either yarn or fabric, this time it was fabric, some soft paler shades........and some bold vibrant Christmas ones, and to top it all off.......some wonderful ribbon from Costco, at $6.99 for 50 yards it is a bargain, I usually buy a couple of rolls every year to add to my stash, yes, I have a ribbon stash, please tell me that I am not the only one!
So that is what I did this weekend, what did you all get up to?

You will know were I was this weekend ;) Have a lovely day :)
the cards look fantastic and I suppose you have to thank the hubby for thsking the photos in the first place! We had a good weekend, just relaxing and enjoying the sunshine (for a change!) I went horseriding Sunday Morning whilst leah was with her grandparents, so it was nice to have a bit of time to myself!
I meant to say thank your husband for TAKING the photos!
What a great idea to turn your husband's wonderful photography into notecards! That would make a really nice gift...gives me some grandparent gift ideas... I taught this weekend, so it was busy, but we did enjoy some yummy lasagna with friends as a belated b'day dinner for my hubby. Your chocolate cupcakes would have been a perfect dessert!
P.S. I have a ribbon stash, too!
Those photo cards look amazing!!! Your cupcakes look delicious. I too have a ribbon stash.
Hmmmm, what did we do in the Frazzy Dazzles house for the weekend? We washed the dog, mowed the lawn, mulched the garden, pruned and trimmed the trees, cleaned the cubby house and went to swimming lessons....Spring has sprung!
Great idea to use those fabulous photographs as cards. They are so wonderful!
Now you have me thinking more about Christmas. It's coming around sooo fast! Jen
Oooo, buying is a rather pleasant distraction isn't it. I love your fabric (also a satisfying buy) and the ribbon in time for Christmas. The pictures are wonderful and so are the cupcakes. Love the pink against the chocoloate.

Even I have a ribbon stash! (In fact, I just got back from Michael's where I picked up some more!). I have been in a baking mood too. I found my old recipe for thumbprint cookies. I used to make them when I was a girl. I have some orange fig jam that sounded pretty good in each of them! Those cards you two made are so beautiful! Good job!
Your husband's photography is gorgeous! May I ask where you ordered the cards from? I have been making cards with mine for a long time, but would like to get some printed like that (much easier!). Would you mind letting me know? talindamood at hotmail dot com Thank you. You have a great blog. I'll have to come back and visit. (I am from the Pacific Northwest but live in CA now)
