A tiny little chipmunk enjoying a tasty meal.
A very large ant nest, moving with what seemed like a million ants. I have to admit that this was not my most favorite thing in the woods. In fact it made me downright itchy, and I convinced myself that one or two of them had crawled onto me. The mind sure can play tricks sometimes. But all in all it was a lovely walk in the woods. You should try it now and then.

I miss walking in the woods. I don't like ants, though. They don't even have the decency to run away, they'll just crawl all over you. Now you have me feeling itchy, too.

When I was a girl, we had chipmunks on our land that would eat from our hands. : )
How beautiful - you are lucky to live in such a beautiful state.
Thanks for the wonderful walk in the woods. I love everything about nature, including the ant hills. I really miss walking in the woods, but hopefully I will be able to do it again at some time.
