Teapots

When we first moved into our home I decided to do something a little different in the kitchen, above the kitchen cabinets was a small space, really to small for much of anything, yet it looked liked it needed something. One day while out shopping in one of our discount stores I came across a pretty little teapot, I believe it only cost about 10 dollars, I bought it home and placed it above the cabinets and it looked and fitted perfectly. Then the hunt was on, I gave myself a budget of no more than 12 dollars tops per teapot. It did take quite a few months to finish filling the space but it looked just right when it was all done. They vary tremendously in styles, but somehow they all seem to fit with one another quite nicely. Now and again I take one down and use it to make tea, it is nice that a decoration for the kitchen can also be functional and not just be a dust collector!

Have a super weekend everybody!

How do you find tea over there? I know that people in the US tend to drink tons of coffee rather than tea. We noticed that when we went to Hawaii on our honeymoon (also went to whistler, cananda and they drunk mainly coffee there too!). I'm a total tea addict so couldn't do without it - my husband doesn't drink it though so I only have to make it for myself LOL! LOVE the teapots - I only have a VERY plain blue one, but a good excuse to make a teacosy for it :o)

What a neat collection! I always thought it would be fun to collect tea pots or cookie jars, but I didn't know where I would put them. It sounds like you have the perfect spot! Aren't collections fun?

As a tea junkie I love the idea of filling spaces with tea-aphenalia (spell check didn't like that one!) I love teapots. Practical, beautiful and full of possibilities! Jen

Hi Kathy, I love finding different uses for everyday things and teapots are no exceptions - especially for decorative purposes!

Your teapots go together so nicely because the colours all compliment each other. It is quite handy the space above the cupboards, the only down side is having to stand on a chair to reach anything! x

I was reading back thru some old posts and found these teapots. They're wonderful. I broke my everyday teapot and need to replace it. I have several special ones that I don't like to use too often.
