Suggestions,please?

Normally I am quite good at figuring out or coming up with an idea on using a new material. The box in the pic above has got me stumped, it is full with pieces of lovely thin leather and suede scraps, some of them are quite a good size and they come in very lovely colors. Whenever somebody offers me anything of the crafting nature I never refuse. That being said I have had this box for about six months now and the only idea that I can come up with is little bags, boots or belts for my little toys. Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.Well isn't this a greusome picture...although fitting for Halloween I guess! As soon as I can figure out what and who goes where then they will be in great shape, and then I can dress them in this new Christmas fabric.......it arrived last week and I have been drooling over it ever since, don't you just love getting new fabric!
Before I can dive right in and start on it I have to finish up a few things first.

Well poop! Why is it when you get new yarn or fabric you want to drop what you are sewing or knitting and start in on the new stuff, or is it just me? Somehow I don't think so!

Have a lovely crafting day!

I am thinking the suede pieces would make a nice jacket, leather pieces nice shoes and/or belts. Whatever you do, don't throw them away. Seems like everytime one throws something away, a useful purpose for it comes to mind!! I love your fabric and your new blog look.

How about elephants in liederhausen??? (Not sure if I spelled that correctly?)... or little 60's style shift dresses? Or stylish leather trenchcoats? Or you could make yourself a BAG?

Oh, I have to stop myself from constantly getting materials for another project!! I actually forget everything I want to do! I think you should make little Mary Janes out of the leather pieces. I love little leather shoes on girls! Or little lace-ups on boys! Have fun with all of your new material!!! And yes,... tomorrow is my self-appointed deadline. I didn't get to work at all on it today. I want to deliver it to the show on Friday! Nathalie and I have something cooking for the movie premiere of Twilight too!! That's what I was working on!! ;)

Do you have enough of that thin suede/leather to actually make a bear or another animal out of it? That might be kind of neat! Can't wait to see what you come up with!

whenever I see leather I think of chaps (like the cowboys wear over their jeans) and a little waistcoat. If you were feeling naughtly (ahem) and had black leather - an S&M elephant LOL!!!! Not really appropriate but would be very funny!! Imagine the comments you would get!!!! haahhaha! Sorry, the idea just really tickled me!

I was thinking along the lines of a bag as well. What about in the style of a crazy quilt.

You could make up little parcels of similar colours and sell them on Etsy.

Leather is great I think for little embellishments – belts handles for teddy bags, labels.

Sewn together and cover a notebook?

Loops for coats.

Do you want me to continue?

Lovely fabric, I would use the leather for little boots and hats for your lovely creations or perhaps a little leather patchwork mini quilt!
